Recreation and entertainment in Druskininkai
Druskininkai is not only a resort rich in nature, the largest in Lithuania all year round, but also and the oldest. This resort boasts of three natural wonders: mineral water, healing mud and fresh air.
The very salty name of the resort, Druskininkai, suggests to us that we will have salt here. Here we will travel to the most creative educational lesson in Druskininkai “Salty Lesson”. Here we will touch this mineral with our own hands, see sculptures carved out of salt, which can weigh up to 800 kg, and we will have the opportunity to create our own small but salty work of art in “Salt Studio”.
If we take a lot of salty creations in “Salty lesson” and want a little sweetness, then we will go to get a little sweeter with a traditional Lithuanian dessert – a tree cake. Without this pastry, it is difficult to imagine a Lithuanian holiday table. The shape of the tree cake resembles a spruce, and its needles represent the twigs. In the demonstration baking of twigs, we will learn from what and how the twigs are baked, how they were baked in antiquity, and what historical personalities liked to taste it. During this education, not only will you have the opportunity to contribute to the production of the tree cake, but also to taste two types of tree cakes, it is a great opportunity to taste other branches.
We will visit an exposition of sculptures created by Antanas Česnulis, one of the best sculptors in Dzūkija, a wood carver. You will be surprised at what one person can do with a wood: here we will see not only a wing rotating wings, various fairy-tale characters or historical personalities, but also the only collection of Pensive Christ in Lithuania. The park is constantly supplemented with new works by the sculptor, so every time you arrive you will discover new, as yet unseen sculptures.
In Druskininkai we will take a walk on the shores of Lake Druskonis, admire the Spa Park, where an intriguing election of a tanned gentleman or lady, the election of the most beautiful eyes and other entertainment of the resort took place at the colonnade a hundred years ago. We will admire the most beautiful musical fountain chosen in Lithuania, whose current dances according to the sounds of the most sophisticated music. On the banks of the Nemunas and Ratnyčelė, we will admire the images that inspired the famous artist and composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis to create works of art that fascinated the whole world. With the most ecological vehicle, we will take the cable car to the tops of the pine trees and review the bends of the Nemunas and the panorama of the resort. In the “Spring of Beauty” bursting from the depths of the earth, we will wash our faces and beautify them a little without feeling, and after visiting the Druskininkai health resort, we will taste mineral water directly from the well.
For those who long for entertainment, we offer fun in the Druskininkai water park on the bank of the Nemunas. In the tower, which almost reaches the sky, you will find winding, open and closed slides that will captivate fans of extreme adventures. Speed, adrenaline, a little pleasant fear and a lot of laughter in the water splash. Those who are looking to relax will find warming pleasures and comprehensive relaxation in the 19 adults-only sauna area with special sauna programs, heated sun loungers and hot tubs bubbling outside.
For those who miss winter and can’t live without its entertainment, we offer to go to Druskininkai Snow Arena, where snow and cold prevail all year round. It is the only year-round winter entertainment complex in the Baltics. For several years in a row, the Snow Arena has been in the top five of the world’s winter entertainment complexes. Here you will be able to try the slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding for both amateurs and professionals.
